Please Read This Before You Order A Download! AOL Users Please Be Sure To Read Number 7! 1. Please do NOT attempt to download products if you do not have a high-speed Internet connection. Typical high-speed connections are cable modems, fiber optic (such as Verizon FiOS) and DSL. If you have to dial a telephone number to connect to the Internet, you probably do NOT have a high-speed connection. If you are not sure what type of connection you have, contact your internet service provider to find out. 2. The video files are quite large and there should be no problem downloading them if you have a high-speed internet connection. It may take as little as 3 minutes to download a single video file on a good-quality high-speed connection. This time will vary considerably depending on the speed and quality of your connection and the number of videos you are downloading. 3. The videos will play on Windows PCs as well as on MacIntosh computers. They are recorded in Windows Media Format and should play on any PC with Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, Windows ME or Windows 98. If you are using a MacIntosh please be sure to see our Mac Users page. 4. Before you order, you may want to try a short test video. This will give you a chance to work out any problems before you download the video. Click HERE for access to sample video clips. If sample clips video display properly, you should be able to view the actual video product after you download it. 5. Before you order, you may want to review the download instructions page and print a copy. You can also visit our technical help page if you need additional assistance. 6. If you have a problem playing the videos on any systems listed above, you may need to download and install the latest version of Windows Media Player. It is a FREE download from Microsoft, and you can download it by clicking HERE. 7. AOL Users: If you use AOL as your Internet Service Provider it is quite likely that you will encounter serious problems with downloading any of our videos. The methods used by AOL to connect their customers to the Internet make it very difficult to download large files. If you are an AOL customer, you are urged to order the DVD or CD versions of our videos. We have had many AOL users that have been unable to download our videos and we would rather spare you the frustration of dealing with those problems. We are sorry but we are not able to change the way AOL runs their network. Note about burning your own CDs and DVDs: We realize that some people are in a hurry to get started with crochet and may order a download product with the intent of putting it on a CD or DVD disk. We do not have any problem with people wanting to put downloaded videos on CD or DVD for their own use, however, be aware that the download files were not created for the purpose of putting them on a DVD. Doing so will likely be a process that involves converting the files to a different video format so they can be used by a DVD authoring program. In addition, the quality of the DVD will probably be poor because of all the compression that is applied to our original video files in order to create files that are small enough to be downloaded. The compression does not create problems for videos that are intended to be displayed on a computer, but it will probably not convert well to DVD format. Putting the download videos on CD should work just fine. The videos that are available for download are the same files we use to create our CDs, so you may (if you have a high-speed Internet connection) want to consider downloading the videos you want and putting them on CD yourself to save shipping costs. Any of our videos that are placed on DVD or CD should be for your own use. We ask that you please do not make copies to sell or give away to others. |
